Criminal Law
For any person who is facing the possibility of a criminal prosecution, early legal advice is essential.
We are one of the most experienced Criminal Law practices in Limerick City and the surrounding area, with over 50 years of collective expertise. All of our solicitors are recognised industry wide as being experts in criminal defence. We are experienced in successfully defending persons accused of the most serious criminal offences including sexual offences and murder. Even where a case concerns a minor Road Traffic Incident, Public Order, Theft or Misuse of Drugs infringement, the long-term implications of the matter could be extremely serious. Therefore, it is important to speak with an expert from the outset.
We are available 24 hours a day in the event of an emergency, for consultation, advice and to attend at Garda Stations. Should you avail of our services, we will quickly assess the seriousness of the situation, help you plan a strategy to deal with the problem, and if necessary, liaise with the State Authorities.
We attend District Courts daily in the Mid-west region and we constantly are representing persons in the Circuit Criminal Court, The Central Criminal Court, The Special Criminal Court, the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.

Fees
If you are entitled to Legal Aid we will make the necessary applications on your behalf so that you will not have to pay legal fees while receiving the best possible representation. If you are not entitled to Legal Aid, fees will be communicated to you from the outset and flexible payment options can be arranged.
Interpretation service
If you have been accused of a criminal offence, and you require the assistance of an interpreter in the Garda Station, it is a requirement that a qualified interpreter is obtained for you. If you are further charged with a criminal offence and you must attend court, a qualified interpreter can be arranged for you by making an application to the Court. Legal advice is essential in these circumstances to ensure your rights are afforded to you. At Kiely McCarthy LLP we can also organise that an interpreter assists with consultations prior to the investigation process.
